Wireless business pushes Huawei global sales to $8.2b

Huawei Technologies has announced that its global contract sales for 2005 reached $8.2 billion, representing a year-over-year growth rate of 40%.

 

The company attributed the growth to continued market growth in the product areas of wireless mobile network, next generation network, optical networks, data communications, application and software and terminals.

 

Huawei currently serves 28 of the top 50 global carriers, including British Telecom, Vodafone, Telefonica, KPN in the Netherlands, SingTel, AIS in Thailand, MTN in South Africa, Telemar in Brazil and other major carriers in addition to China's carriers.

 

The equipment maker also has a presence in 14 European and North American countries including Germany, France, Britain, Spain, Portugal, the US and Canada.
