WTA opens applications for 2006 Top Operators rankings

The World Teleport Association (WTA) will accept applications for its 2006 Top Operators rankings until the close of business on October 6, with the final list to be announced on November 1.

Companies with revenues ranging from more than $1 billion to less than $2 million may apply for inclusion in the Global Top Ten based on revenue from all sources and includes all commercial operators, the Independent Top Ten based on revenue from all sources but excluding companies whose primary business is satellite fleet operations or terrestrial network services, and the Fast Ten based on year-on-year revenue growth in their most recent and including all commercial operators.

Last year's Top Operators included giants SES Global, Intelsat, GlobeCast and Vyvx, as well as lesser known teleport operators such as CapRock Communications, Agiosat Global Communications, ND SatCom, ProTel, ATCi, UpLit and WTA's 2005 Corporate Operator of the Year, Schlumberger Global Connectivity Services.
