Middle East cellco Zain is marking the beginning of the end of its universal MTC brand, with the launch of a new moniker in Lebanon.
The firm is switching its brand name to Touch – Managed by Zain, after eight years of operating in Lebanon under the MTC Touch brand. Zain was named MTC when it first entered the market, and claims the switch reflects a new era of mobile communications in the country.
Zain also revealed its subscriber base in Lebanon has passed the two million mark, a milestone chief commercial officer Hisham Akbar says has been achieved through close collaboration with the country’s Ministry of Telecommunications.
“As a brand, Touch carriers a set of values that reinforce positivity and hope of a new world where each and every one of our customers can dream for, and work towards, a better life,” Akbar states.
