Zon converges IT, network management systems

Portuguese cable company ZON Multimedia has executed a €1.2 million project to consolidate its IT and network management systems using IBM software.
 
ZON, which is the largest pay TV operator in Portugal and the country's second biggest internet service provider, is using IBM's integrated service management solutions to converge the two domains.
 
The operator said it selected IBM due to its holistic approach to the project's goals.
 
The converged management platform uses IBM service management software including Tivoli Netcool and Monitoring, Composite Application Manager, OMNibus and Network Manager.
