ZTE unveils next-gen PON

ZTE has unveiled what the company claims is the world's first next-generation PON equipment - the ZXA10 C300 multiservice access platform.

Launched yesterday at Expo Comm Italia 2008, the C300 is the first unified platform to support GPON, EPON and P2P as well as the emerging 10G-EPON and NG-PON standards. The platform has been designed to ease migration to the next-generation standards.

The system is ready for deployment in a wide range of FTTx scenarios, and has high capacity, long reach and high integration, ZTE claims.

ZTE exhibited a range of green broadband solutions at the expo and the company's new Broadband Easyservice system.
