How much funding has it raised? $101 million
What is the business and business model? Actility’s ThingPark platform, for sale to IoT providers, offers management of sensors, base stations and applications alongside billing, storage and analytics. The company counts customers including Orange, SoftBank and, in the United States, Comcast, which is using the company’s platform in Comcast’s tests of LoRa network technology for the IoT.
What is the company's differentiator? Unlike some other LPWA offerings, Actility customers aren’t “constrained to one supplier, and instead can choose which ones best suit their own, individual needs,” the company said, adding that its offering is radio agnostic and can support any network, including the LTE-M services from cellular operators.
What’s next? French Actility said it will use its latest round of funding to expand its small team in the United States, as well as in other locations around the globe. The company also said it will “seek to broaden its technology portfolio and expand the LPWA footprint.”
