Boxed is working to put the wholesale shopping experience into a mobile app. The company offers free shipping on a selection of common household and office products from big-box retailers like Costco and Sam’s Club, all without the standard wholesale shopping membership fees. “Boxed brings convenience and savings to on-the-go consumers who don’t have the time, means or patience to shop at a brick and mortar big box club,” the company said.

What is the company's differentiator? “We are not an ‘everything’ store, like Amazon. We are an online wholesale club of everyday household items,” the company said. “Our differentiator is that we have no membership fee.”

What’s next? Boxed said it plans to continue to expand the number of products available through its service, and to offer new services such as hotel rentals.
