Mehta said that in the course of creating buzzd's Android app, the company's developer team received numerous emails from Google engineers seeking to iron out any quality assurance questions. In addition, Google hosted an Android hackathon that presented developers the opportunity to discuss face-to-face the challenges posed by the new OS. "A lot of the errors Android developers might have faced were minimized by Google's collaborative atmosphere," Mehta said. "Dealing with Apple is like speaking to the wizard behind the curtain. We never had direct feedback from anyone at the company. There's no personal touch."
