Why it's Fierce: The enterprise segment is a lucrative, but difficult market for wireless carriers to tap. Integrated Mobile helps bridge that gap between the operator and the enterprise through its lifecycle management technology platform, called iManage, combined with consulting and professional services. This 65-person company was founded by an IT consulting executive and is headed by President and CEO Jay Highley, a 20-year veteran of Sprint. The firm gets most of its customers through referrals from its carrier partners, which include T-Mobile USA, Sprint, AT&T and Verizon Wireless. Integrated Mobile helps companies track and manage their wireless assets as well as provides billing management and service plan optimization. On average, Highley says the firm helps clients reduce their wireless spend by 20 percent to 40 percent immediately. In November, Integrated Mobile was recognized by Business First Columbus as one of the best places to work in Central Ohio.
What to look for: The company just received $5 million in funding that it plans to use to automate some of its processes and improve its efficiency. The firm also has a patent pending on its technology platform. Look for Integrated Mobile to continue to rack up enterprise customers and prove that wireless doesn't have to be a confusing and costly endeavor.
