As the senior vice president and head of CDMA for Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC), Rima Qureshi is the highest-ranking female employee at the company. That's no small feat, considering Ericsson is also one of the largest employers in the industry.
As the head of CDMA for Ericsson, Qureshi's role is fairly new because Ericsson only recently ventured back into the CDMA realm when it purchased Canadian vendor Nortel's CDMA business in January. In this role, Qureshi works closely with U.S. CDMA carriers, which are critical to Ericsson's overall wireless business. But she is well-versed in the wireless business, having been with Ericsson since 1993. Most recently she was the head of Ericsson Response, and oversaw the strategic improvement program within the North American market unit.
Within Ericsson, Qureshi is known for her work mentoring other women on topics such as how to successfully balance their professional and personal lives.
