Why it's Fierce: Tensorcomm's Interference Cancellation Technology can dramatically reduce spectrum interference, leading to better voice quality, improved data rates and increased network capacity. In fact, Tensorcomm executives claim that ICT-enabled devices can increase data throughput by up to 60 percent.
The company continues to strengthen its technology and intellectual property position. The firm's technology roadmap includes CDMA (1X and 1xEV-DO), WCDMA/HSDPA and networks deploying MIMO. In fact, the company last July announced its 75th patent filing related to interference cancellation. The latest filing applies to the ICT being used in networks using MIMO.
Analysts say that the time is right for ICT technology because spectrum is becoming scarce and operators are going to need to use ICT techniques if they want to offer wireless broadband services in their existing spectrum.
What to look for: The company has been working hard to convince carriers, handset makers and baseband chipset providers that the firm's ICT technology should be incorporated into chipsets. Look for this early stage firm to ink a deal with a chipmaker in the coming year.
