Director of program development, mobile apps and partner program for T-Mobile USA
There's no question that compelling mobile applications are the key to growth in the wireless industry right now, which is why it's critical for all operators to find the right strategy--and the right leader--to foster creative mobile developers. As director of the program development for T-Mobile USA's mobile apps and partner program, Venetia Espinoza is charged with that task, and has already come up with a novel approach that gives developers direct access to T-Mobile USA through the company's Partner Network.
Launched last February, the program allows developers to market their apps directly via the carrier's deck and earn as much as 70 percent of revenues, as well as the right to determine their own premium download pricing. The carrier also offers developers technical support, apps trials and a virtual lab.
Espinoza is no stranger to the wireless industry; she has worked in it for more than 10 years focusing on wireless data, wireless Internet applications and business development. Before joining T-Mobile, she worked as a senior director of business development at Nextel. She started her career with GTE International, where she helped launch wireless in Venezuela.
A frequent speaker at industry events, Espinoza also works on T-Mobile's direct-to-consumer business and focuses on strategic relationships with device manufacturers and platform providers.
