AT&T will offer 4G LTE to RVs with Togo

AT&T and Togo have teamed up to bring 4G LTE connectivity to recreational vehicles (RVs) in the U.S.

RV app ecosystem provider Togo is part of TH2, a global, technology-focused joint venture between U.S.-based Thor Industries and New Zealand-based THL. TH2 launched Togo in late 2018 with an RV companion app that helps RV owners track maintenance and locate service centers.

Togo has now launched Roadlink, an RV connectivity solution that uses AT&T’s 4G LTE network. It includes a 4G LTE router and Wi-Fi extender that can turn any RV into a secure Wi-Fi hotspot. Users are able to connect multiple devices to the Wi-Fi hotspot, up to 50 ft away.

Roadlink will offer exclusive data plans to customers. AT&T is offering an unlimited data plan for $360 per year; or a 5GB data plan for $25 per month. Togo also offers a Wi-Fi connectivity app that pairs a smartphone with the Roadlink C2 antenna to help customers track data use on devices.

“With Internet of Things connectivity, we’re making it easier for people to stay connected on the go and bring the conveniences of home to just about anywhere, including in their homes, cars, businesses and even connected RVs,” said Chris Penrose, president of Internet of Things solutions at AT&T, in a statement.

Roadlink builds on a recently announced partnership between AT&T and Thor-subsidiary Airstream. AT&T has partnered with Airstream to offer 4G LTE connectivity to all Airstream RVs, using embedded hardware and exclusive data plans.

“Recreational vehicles are the next frontier for connected vehicles, bringing with them a whole new audience,” Penrose said.
