BelAir guarantees performance for WiFi networks

BelAir Networks announced what it calls the industry's first Service Level Agreement for muni-WiFi network equipment. That means network operators and system integrators will agree on coverage and performance requirements as well as an architecture meeting these demands. BelAir will then certify the design and supply equipment to meet the requirements. If the fully installed network does not deliver the agreed upon performance and coverage, BelAir will provide additional nodes to meet the specified coverage or speed for free. In light of the continual criticism of muni-WiFi performance across many cities, BelAir's announcement seems to come at an opportune time.
