Cetecom adds Rhode and Schwarz test platforms

Test and measurement specialist Cetecom disclosed it will use Rhode & Schwarz test platforms for conformance and network operators' acceptance testing for LTE Release 10 carrier aggregation, IMS, VoLTE, RCS, E911 over IMS and several location-based services.

Cetecom will specifically enlist the use of the Rhode & Schwarz TS8980FTA-2 and Rhode & Schwarz CMW500 test platforms, which Cetecom said "can seamlessly address the testing complexities of legacy, current and future technologies."

LTE-Advanced and IMS related features such as carrier aggregation, VoLTE and RCS are triggering new test requirements designed to ensure the end-user's quality of service. Further, devices using VoLTE must support E911 over IMS for emergency services, and testing E911 over IMS involves the verification of the IMS protocol stack and location determination performance, Cetecom said

On the locations-based services front, Cetecom noted that technologies, such as the satellite based A-GNSS or LTE network-based OTDOA, must be tested quickly and efficiently without adding significant cost or time to the testing and certification process.

"Adding the Rohde & Schwarz systems to our existing range of test equipment enables Cetecom to provide the necessary industry certifications and network operator acceptance testing and consequently meets the demands of our customers," said Wilfried Klassmann, Cetecom CEO.
