Clearwire won't be first to market with mobile WiMAX in some Texas towns

Clearwire will officially launch mobile WiMAX in the smaller Texas towns of Abeline, Lubbock and Wichita on Sept. 1, and, interestingly enough, the operator won't be the first to introduce consumers there to WiMAX services. Clearwire will be competing with Xanadoo, which introduced mobile WiMAX service in these Texas towns more than two years ago. Xanadoo also offers WiMAX in communities in Oklahoma and Illinois.
