Given all the talk and momentum around 5G, it's easy to forget that LTE and LTE-Advanced still have a long life ahead. Operators in the United States, like AT&T, have long stressed the importance of seeing 5G through the standards process before anybody gets too gung-ho about the prospects for full-blown commercial 5G networks.
Not surprisingly, many operators in Europe, where standards reign king, share that sentiment. They noted that LTE continues to evolve with enhancements such as carrier aggregation, VoLTE and RCS.
