Now that the third-quarter reporting season is coming to a close, it's time to start parsing the information to see which carriers slipped and which ones managed to get ahead. FierceWireless takes an in-depth look at what the major wireless operators accomplished in the third quarter. Note: The list is significantly shorter than it used to be, because of consolidation. In the second quarter of last year, T-Mobile US assumed control of MetroPCS and Sprint assumed control of Clearwire. Earlier this year, AT&T closed its acquisition of Leap Wireless.
