Mobile WiMAX comes to Amsterdam

Worldmax has launched a mobile WiMAX network in Amsterdam, the host city for the WiMAX Forum's Global Congress this week. Worldmax, whose lead investor is Intel, is offering ahead of its full launch in September a special offering for the first 500 people who sign up. For $46, these users will receive a Zyxel PC card and service for one month. Worldmax is calling its WiMAX service Aerea, which reportedly offers download speeds up to 1 Mbps and uplink speeds of 128 kbps.
