Nokia gets Sprint's WiMAX rollouts in Texas

Nokia said it will supply WiMAX gear for Sprint's rollout in Dallas, Fort Worth, San Antonio and Austin, Texas. The network is expected to be up and running in the first half of 2008. In January, Sprint named Nokia along with Motorola and Samsung as its major suppliers of WiMAX network equipment. All are pushing the WiMAX ecosystem along by supplying both network infrastructure and WiMAX-enabled mobile devices. Interestingly, why hasn't Nokia won any additional contracts with other operators? It appears WiMAX might be the stepping stone to improving Nokia's handset market share in North America.
