Nortel wins WiMAX deal in Taiwan

Nortel announced that it too has won mobile WiMAX business with Taiwan's Far EasTone Telecommunications (FET). The news followed Motorola's major infrastructure win with FET. Nortel's deal also is part of FET's M-Taiwan project. In addition to FET's involvement in the M-Taiwan initiative, the company is one of the winners of the WiMAX radio frequency spectrum in Taiwan's recent license bid. Taiwan plans to roll out WiMAX commercial services in 2008 with six licenses issued to mobile operators in July 2007.
