Rumor Mill: T-Mobile to offer discount on broadband plans to existing voice users

T-Mobile USA is expected to introduce new webConnect broadband plans that appear to have the effect of qualifying some subscribers with an existing voice plan to save 20 percent on new broadband options.

TMoNews obtained marketing documents about the plan that state: "Customers with individual or pooled Voice plans AND a Broadband plan on the same account can get a discount!"

The move comes following the company's announcement that it lost 318,000 postpaid subscribers in the fourth quarter, and in January it unveiled a turnaround strategy that rests on several key pillars, including reducing churn, increasing sales of cheaper smartphones based on Google's (NASDAQ:GOOG) Android platform, and highlighting the company's HSPA+ network, which the company has said will be upgraded to HSPA+ 42 technology covering 140 million POPs by year's end.
