Sizing up Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile in Q1

Now that the first-quarter earnings season is coming to a close, it's time to see how Verizon Wireless (NYSE: VZ), AT&T Mobility (NYSE: T), Sprint (NYSE: S) and T-Mobile US (NYSE:TMUS) performed in the first quarter of 2015.

Research by Jackdaw Research analyst Jan Dawson covers relatively standard metrics but also takes a deep dive into prepaid vs. postpaid performance, subscriber acquisitions vs. losses, and more. Interestingly, it looks as though T-Mobile's message of improving network performance at a compelling price is working. The operator dominated U.S. postpaid phone growth in the first quarter. However, for the operators overall, the real growth opportunities lie elsewhere. For more on Dawson's analysis, check out this FierceWireless special report.
