SPOTLIGHT: Europe's mobile broadband market to reach $4.1B

New research from Berg Insight says the European mobile broadband market will reach 5 million connections at the end of this year, with Austria and Sweden leading the way because operators there are offering affordable 3G services at about 20 euros per month for laptop users.

The firm forecasts that the total value of the European mobile broadband market will grow at an annual compound growth rate of 22.9 percent during the next five years to reach $4.1 billion. The number of connections are expected to reach nearly 30 million by 2011, the year when mobile network connectivity is anticipated to become a standard feature in notebook PCs. Release
