SPOTLIGHT: Report: 88M mobile WiMAX subs by 2012

Parks Associates says the number of global mobile broadband subscribers will surpass the 1.1-billion mark by 2012. The firm also forecasts that mobile WiMAX will account for 8 percent, or nearly 88 million, of these users with the majority coming from Asia and the Americas. Parks Associates estimates that 52 percent of mobile WiMAX subscribers will be from Asian countries while North and South America will account for another 28 percent.
