SPOTLIGHT: Report: Retailers face big wireless attack threat

A new report from AirDefense, a wireless security vendor, says today's retailer faces a greater threat from data breaches coming from wireless hackers than from shop lifters. To reach that conclusion, AirDefense staffers used wireless antennas to test the security of about 3,000 retail stores in major malls across the world. AirDefense said it discovered that about 85 percent of the 2,500 laptops, handhelds, barcode scanners and 5,000 access points would have been relatively simple to hack. Article
