The pioneering modernization effort that Sprint Nextel (NYSE:S) calls Network Vision is well underway. A host of improvements and new technologies being deployed at its cell sites are enabling Sprint to refarm spectrum, shut down iDEN, improve CDMA coverage and launch LTE. Reporters were recently permitted to tour one of the operator's new Network Vision cell sites in Overland Park, Kan., and here's what they discovered.
