Super Bowl XLVIII provided a test for Tier 1 wireless carriers' networks

Packed football stadiums make for an intriguing test of mobile networks' capabilities, and Super Bowl XLVIII, played this past Sunday, resulted in the generation and delivery of massive amounts of wireless data. With more than 85,000 people attending the game at New Jersey's MetLife Stadium, the mobile network operators had their work cut out for them. FierceWireless worked with Nexgen Wireless, an independent, third-party telecommunications software and engineering services vendor, to see how the carriers' networks performed at the event.
