Vendors looking to extend mesh indoors

One point of criticism of muni-WiFi networks has been the lack of coverage in the home, which is why a handful of companies such as Ruckus Wireless and PEPWave have introduced customer premise equipment (CPE) that specifically extends mesh signals indoors. Now a host of mesh vendors are getting into the act. Last week Firetide announced its own CPE, in both plug-indoor version and a weatherproof outdoor version. Recently, Motorola announced that its MOTowi4 wireless will include a new wi4 indoor solution that will combine the enterprise equipment with broadband over powerline.
