According to a new report from the Boschulte Schnee Group, WiMAX could thwart the quadruple-play service bundles planned by telecom and cable service providers. According to the report, if WiMAX is deployed and marketed properly, the technology could reach customers less expensively than today's wireline networks and can offer true convergence. WiMAX is a threat to the cable industry because it can undercut their prices on voice and high-speed data, the report said.
