Amp'd forges deal with EA for mobile games

Recently launched MVNO Amp'd Mobile has inked a deal with Electronic Arts to bring more than 15 of the game publisher's mobile games to Amp'd handsets early this year. Amp'd is an MVNO that leases space on Verizon Wireless' network. Like many other MVNOs, it markets its services to young adults. EA made a big splash when it entered the mobile gaming market with the acquisition of mobile game publishing company Jamdat late last year. Some of the games set to launch on Amp'd handsets include Madden NFL '06Need for Speed Underground 2, The Sims 2 and Tiger Woods PGA Tour '06. Amp'd already has a content deal with MTV Networks that sees the network providing video clips, ringtones and other content.
