Analyst: Clearwire to launch in nine markets in 2009

The analyst firm and WiMAX-watcher ThinkEquity is predicting that the new Clearwire will launch in nine markets in 2009, and will need to raise an additional $3 billion in capital by 2010, which will allow the company to break even by 2014. ThinkEquity said in addition to the launch in Portland this month, it expects one market to launch late in the second quarter, with two more in the summer and fall and five markets in the last three months of the year.
