AT&T moves Arroyo to consumer biz, names Chow CEO of business division

AT&T is making a few more tweaks to its leadership team. Thaddeus Arroyo, previously the CEO of AT&T Business, will now be CEO of AT&T’s Consumer Business, and Anne Chow, previously the president of national business at AT&T Business, was promoted to CEO of AT&T’s Business Division. The changes are effective now.

These moves follow AT&T’s announcement earlier this week that it was promoting Jeff McElfresh to CEO of AT&T Communications unit and John Stankey to president and COO of AT&T, in addition to his role as CEO of WarnerMedia.

Stankey and McElfresh’s promotions were announced a week after John Donovan, currently the CEO of AT&T Communications, announced his plans to retire on October 1.

Arroyo is an AT&T veteran who in 2016 was picked to head up AT&T Business after the retirement of Ralph de la Vega. Prior to that he was in charge of AT&T’s operations in Mexico. He also served as CIO of Cingular, which purchased AT&T Wireless in 2004.

The role of CEO of AT&T’s Consumer Business is a new position. Arroyo will report to McElfresh.

Chow is also a long-time AT&T employee who held a variety of positions within the company, including engineering, sales and marketing, customer care and product management. In her role as president of national business she oversaw a team of more than 12,000 employees.

In 2018 she was awarded a Stevie Award for Female Executive of the Year for her work at AT&T.
