ATN taps ex-Alltel exec to manage former Alltel properties

Atlantic Tele-Network, which said in June it would pay $200 million for some of the assets Verizon Wireless agreed to divest as part of its purchase of Alltel, has hired a former Alltel executive to run a subsidiary company managing the assets. ATN said that Frank O'Mara would be the CEO of the new company, Atlantic Wireless Communications Corp., which will cover more than 800,000 subscribers primarily in rural areas across Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, North Carolina, Ohio and South Carolina. O'Mara was formerly Alltel's executive vice president of sales and marketing. Article
