Best Buy Mobile may expand

Best Buy said the number of its 3,000-square-foot Best Buy Mobile stores, of which there are now 41 across the United States, may expand in 2009, despite the economic recession. The big-box retailer did not say how many more mobile stores it planned on opening in 2009 but said the concept will get support even as the company tightens capital expenditures. The company said its U.S. mobile phone share in the fourth quarter of 2008 grew to 3.2 percent, up from 1.9 percent a year earlier, and that it hopes to have a 10 percent share in a few years.
