Chipmaker Broadcom plans to increase its stake in the femtocell market with an acquisition of privately held Percello Ltd., which makes system-on-a-chip femtocell solutions. Broadcom expects to pay $86 million in cash for Percello. Broadcom said the acquisition will help it make cheaper femtocells and get them to market quicker. The deal is expected to close by the end of first quarter of next year. Release
