Canadian Starbucks to offer WiFi hotspots through Bell Canada

Bell Canada and Starbucks teamed up to deploy WiFi hotspots in the company's coffee shops across Canada. The companies will launch the first 140 Starbucks hotspots in Ontario with more than 400 others to follow in British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan over the next year. The venture follows the Seattle-based Starbucks' largely successful WiFi strategy in the US. Users of the fee-based service can pay either through regular monthly carrier statements or by credit card. News of the partnership comes on the heels of Rogers Communications and Bell Canada's recent announcement of plans to build free WiFi hotspots throughout Canada.
