China Mobile's first half net up 25 percent

China Mobile posted an unexpected 25 percent rise in first-half net profits, thanks to revenue growth value-added services as well as a boost in subscriber additions. Net profit came in at about $5 billion. The carrier had 332.4 million subscribers at the end of June. Average revenue per user stayed the same, however, at $11.62. The carrier's value-added services include mobile music, news and information services and the company's IM service.
