Chutes & Ladders: Vodafone's new European CEO

It's a big day for corporate shuffling (see the DT story below, too) as Vodafone names Vittorio Colao as its new regional CEO for Europe--already spurring speculating on Wall Street that Colao could be the heir-apparent to CEO Arun Sarin. The carrier has been struggling in Europe to combat tough trading conditions. Colao joins the carrier from Italian Media Company RCS Media Group where he served as CEO; prior to that stint he worked at Vodafone as a CEO in Italy and then in the Southern Europe, Middle East and Africa Region.
