Cingular, InfoSpace revamp carrier's data service

Cingular Wireless has teamed up with mobile content provider InfoSpace to revamp its data service MEdia Net's interface to enable user customization. The solution enables users' handsets to display weather info based on the user's ZIP code, national news and a customizable section that can provide stock quotes, celebrity gossip, sports or one of many other options. Also added is an intelligent search feature that accesses the Web and tracks airline departure and arrival times. The carrier is launching the upgrade for its 30 million multimedia handsets. Former AT&T Wireless customers currently using the legacy mMode data service will migrate to MEdia Net in early 2006.
