In a move to push its own mobile entertainment services, Cingular Wireless has agreed to sponsor an online battle of the bands with YouTube, the web's most watched video site. Could it be a precursor to a bigger deal for Cingular? News reports are saying that Cingular's move has given the fledgling site a significant cash infusion. YouTube has been running on credit card debt and $11.5 million in venture capital. YouTube was mentioned quite a bit during last week's CTIA I.T. show in Los Angeles. It's clear the site is on carriers' radar screens.
