Application developers seem reluctant to release an app until it is 100 percent perfect, according to Kevin Ross, the founder and president of Metova, an application development company. In his view, the software industry seems to have forgotten the purpose of a beta release. Delaying the release of an app can substantially harm business, since it could mean a competitor will get to market first. Delaying a company's marketing timeline, and consequently expected sales, could also greatly diminish the lifetime revenue potential of the app. Industry Voices
