QUALCOMM to Korean OEMs: Bah Humbug. The company issued a statement claiming that The Korea Times got it wrong--royalty payments from licensing agreements with handset OEMs will continue next year. The publication ran a story yesterday citing a confidential contract between Samsung and QUALCOMM that would effectively end many licensing fees for Korean exports in 2008 and for Korean domestic sales in 2006. The company's release assured readers that licensing fees "will continue beyond such dates." The company continues to expand its 4,000+ patent portfolio and says licensing revenues will keep pace or continue to grow. - Brian
