The push-to-talk market has been relatively quiet lately, which makes Sprint MVNO EMBARQ's announcement somewhat refreshing: The carrier is enabling subscribers to the Wireless Press & Talk service to speak to five other subscribers with unlimited minutes. The monthly plan costs $5.95 in addition to a standard wireless voice plan. The service requires the subscriber to purchase the Sanyo 2400 handset (photo), which retails at $29.95 with the standard two-year agreement. No word on which vendor is powering the P2T service.
