Ericsson announced today its intent to acquire IP-based voice and video mail developer Mobeon for an undisclosed amount. Ericsson already owned 21 percent of the company. Ericsson said the deal is another move to build out its multimedia offerings: "Voicemail is one of the most used messaging services by consumers and Mobeon is bringing us the latest IP generation messaging system," said Jan Wareby, SVP.
