Mobile instant communications developer fastmobile raised $12 million in second round funding. Fastmobile develops instant communications software for handsets and other mobile devices. The company also named John Hoffman as CEO and Joe Woods as executive vice president of sales and marketing. Former CEO and founder, Kang Lee, is now COO and retains his position as president. Fastmobile was a member of the 2004 Fierce 15, an annual list of the top emerging wireless companies.
