Foxconn to build at least 5 devices running Mozilla's Firefox OS

Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., better known as Foxconn, confirmed recent reports that it will partner with Mozilla to build at least five devices running Mozilla's Firefox OS, including smartphones, tablets, TVs, electronic whiteboards and outdoor displays. The companies said there are more than five devices planned, according to Reuters. For Mozilla, the partnership could help spread the Firefox platform into emerging markets, where Mozilla is concentrating much of its mobile strategy, as the Wall Street Journal notes. The platform has drawn support so far from at least 17 global operators. Article
