A group of VoIP and WiMAX companies are banding together to demo a live trial of VoIP over WiMAX at GlobalComm in Chicago this week. The group includes QoS solutions provider CableMatrix Technologies, WiMAX basestation developer VCom, converged VoIP solutions provider AudioCodes and software developer Emergent Networks. The VCom booth will make the first call to the AudioCodes booth during the conference. The set-up looks to enable high quality IP voice over the IEEE 802.16 air interface standard.
