Even though crowdfunding site Kickstarter has attracted a total of $1 billion pledged to various projects since it launched in 2009, mobile app developers may still have a few things to learn about using crowdfunding as part of the app development process. For most developers of apps and mobile games, $25,000 may be more than they need--or more than they're likely to get. In some cases though, developers are using Kickstarter, Indiegogo and other sites not to get money to produce their app but to validate their business.
