Intel faces 4G predicament as WiMAX's star dims

Intel has been one of the technology industry's most vocal proponents of WiMAX. The chip maker is a strategic investor in Clearwire (NASDAQ:CLWR), and has been beating the WiMAX drum for years. However, Clearwire's testing of LTE, coupled with international operators' moves away from WiMAX, have cast shadows across the WiMAX ecosystem.
